The WWE Spinner Belt

Hello and welcome to Through The Ropes, where I share my opinions about the world of professional wrestling. The first topic I wish to look at is the WWE Championship's current look. on April 11th, 2005 the belt was given a makeover to reflect the current champion, John Cena's, hip hop and rap style. Now in 2011 this belt is still being used and many fans are wishing for a change. Personally, I believe the WWE Championship should have a new look in order to keep it fresh and new. I mean, look at the current storylines going on. Cena is straying away from the world title picture, at least for now, and the belt is being fought for by CM Punk and Alberto Del Rio. In fact, Punk told us that he wanted to change the belt back around Money In The Bank and Summer Slam. Why is the company trying to milk this gimmick until it dies? It's like the situation with John Cena right now. Fans (both hardcore and casual) are screaming for a heel turn but the WWE won't get their sleeves dirty and do it. Why? Because Cena has market appeal with the kids, just like the belt. Kids will put down money to buy replica titles and force their parents to take them to shows to see their hero. Vince McMahon is thinking like a businessman on this issue: if one kid wants to go to Raw in the front seats just for John Cena, they'll bring their parents and buy toy belts which will get him more money. It's a diabolical scheme that works well in some instances. However, the adults or teenagers are tired of having a super hero good guy and his boring belt in the WWE. Both of these things need to be changed, John Cena even wants it to change. So as my final statement, the WWE Championship needs a makeover, and a good one.
